Software Engineer, Machine Learning

Software Engineer, Machine Learning Responsibilities:

  • Play a critical role in setting the direction and goals for a sizable team, in terms of project impact, ML system design, and ML excellence
  • Adapt standard machine learning methods to best exploit modern parallel environments (e.g., distributed clusters, multicore SMP, and GPU)
  • Re-evaluate the tradeoffs of already shipped features/ML systems, and you are able to drive large efforts across multiple teams to reduce technical debt, designing from first principles when appropriate
  • Leading a team from a technical perspective to develop ML best practices and influence engineering culture
  • Be a go-to person to escalate the most complex online/production performance and evaluation issues, that require an in depth knowledge of how the machine learning system interacts with systems around it
  • Develop highly scalable classifiers and tools leveraging machine learning, data regression, and rules based models
  • Suggest, collect and synthesize requirements and create effective feature roadmap
  • Code deliverables in tandem with the engineering team

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering, or a relevant field. 4+ years of experience if you have a PhD
  • 6+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: machine learning, recommendation systems, pattern recognition, data mining, artificial intelligence, or related technical field
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Javascript or Hack
  • Experience leading major initiatives successfully
  • Experience building and shipping high quality work and achieving high reliability
  • Experience with developing machine learning models at scale from inception to business impact
  • Knowledge developing and debugging in C/C++ and Java, or experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, PHP, and/or shell scripts
  • Experience demonstrating technical leadership working with teams, owning projects, defining and setting technical direction for projects

Designquest, LLC offers turn-key solutions to a variety of industries. We provide 3D Mechanical Design services as well as Precision Machining and Fabrication.

We are currently seeking new team members who are passionate about machining in a job shop environment. We are looking for machinists who can take our drawings and CAD models and make the parts completely and accurately to the specified designs.

We use Autodesk Fusion 360 for programming our CNC machines, and we use advanced machining methods and tooling to keep us up to date with the latest technologies.

We are a job shop, and our average lot size is less than 10 parts per order. So we are making multiple setups each day.

We work four days per week, ten hours per day, which gives us 3-day weekends. We offer a full benefits package that is very competitive.

Responsibilities

Setup and manufacture parts to the provided drawings and models using CNC mills, CNC lathes, CNC router, CNC plasma, Wire EDM, as well as manual mills, lathe, and other support equipment.

Perform setups

Run parts to specified drawings and tolerances

Perform all finish work to the parts such as deburring, tumbling, cleaning, engraving

Software Engineer, Embedded

As Embedded Systems Software Engineer at Carbon Robotics you will work alongside your software, mechanical and electrical peers to build AI and robotics products. You will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining embedded software systems for various electronic devices. You will work closely with hardware engineers and other cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of software and hardware components. You’ll do whatever it takes - which might include going to the farm - to ensure our customers have reliable and safe products.

What you’ll do:

  • Partner with Engineering teams to build firmware on embedded systems for LaserWeeding solution and future products.
  • Develop and troubleshoot firmware running on various microcontroller platforms.
  • Help design and establish the manufacturing and validation methods for PCBs and related sub-components.
  • Investigate control problems at the lowest level and learn how to properly tune them.
  • Drive decision through project planning, task delegation and leading problem solving efforts to reiterate quickly

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for Success:

  • Worked as a Software Engineer with embedded systems in C for 3+ years(Senior role 5+).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Shell scripting.
  • Strong understanding of embedded systems architecture, including microcontrollers, sensors, and communication interfaces (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C).
  • Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as Zephyr or FreeRTOS.
  • Proficiency in debugging tools, such as JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
  • Familiarity with software development tools and version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
  • Working Onsite is a must.

  • Demonstrate proficient expertise in Illustrator, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Blender software as required by the job role.
