As an elite technology college, UAT’s web design degree is earned as a Bachelor of Science. Our web design degree program combines the critical and best-of-class elements of web design and web development majors. Our on campus web design bachelor degree, as well as our web design bachelor degree online, combines advancing web design methodologies and marketing technologies. The focus of this web design degree program is creating elite web design professionals who will have mastery over the advancing realm of digital web design.

Students within the web design major will explore web design classes that comprise aesthetic principles including 2D web design, graphics for web design, as well as the typography and color theories required to help you become a maestro of web design. Building from this base, students will use advanced web design tools to develop and deploy fully functioning web presences. Students enrolled in the web design major will gain best-of-class web design and development experience by applying new marketing techniques and advancing technology strategies.

Students will learn to optimize web designs in both mobile and traditional modes. Students who major in web design at UAT will research and explore web design strategies and create online experiences designed to marvel, wow and persuade the end user.

Graduates from the web design bachelor degree will be prepared for careers as UI web designers, web analysts, user experience web designers, web design information architects, web producers, web design digital marketing specialists and more.​

Web Design Course Description

The Bachelor of Science in Web Design combines the critical elements of design, development and marketing to create competitive web professionals. Students in the program will explore topics in web design from aesthetic principles that include 2D design, graphics, typography and color. Building from this base, students will use current tools to design, develop and deploy fully functioning web presences. Additionally, students will gain experience applying new marketing techniques and strategies to optimize web presences in both mobile and traditional modes. Students will research and explore social media strategies and create web experiences designed to persuade the end user. Graduates from the Bachelor’s program in Web Design will be prepared for careers as UI designers, web analysts, user experience designers, information architects, digital marketing specialists and others.

Web Design Degree Objectives

  • Employ current web development tools to design, develop and deploy fully functioning websites that operate across multiple browsers and platforms.
  • Design effective web experiences that apply concepts of user interaction within the organization and presentation of information architecture.
  • Effectively apply content optimization techniques with respect to keywords, semantics, web copyrighting, graphics and search metrics.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work within a studio production pipeline to create and revise web and social media experiences that meet client timeline, design and quality requirements.
  • Apply aesthetic principles to create a professional web presence that addresses target audiences while matching design trends and client requirements.
  • Implement a social media strategies that effectively promote and drive web traffic to intended targets.

Requirements to graduate include a 2.0 CGPA, completed required coursework, Portfolio, Internship, and a Student Innovation Project.
