Why is Accreditation Important?Accreditation is important to a university because it allows for the recognition of credits from one college by another. In addition, accreditation enables students at the accredited institution to receive Title IV funding financial aid. For UAT, our accreditation from the above listed organizations helps us to ensure quality through continuous improvement.

Major Accrediting BodiesUAT is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and a Member of the North Central Association. Further information about The Higher Learning Commission may be contacted via www.ncahigherlearningcommission.org or by phone: (800) 621-7440 / (312) 263-0456. Learn more about NCA and read an abridged version of UAT's 2009 Self Study.
UAT is also a senior college accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) to award diplomas, associate's degrees, bachelor's degrees and master's degrees. ACICS is listed as a nationally recognized accrediting agency by the United States Department of Education. The Council for Higher Education Accreditation also recognizes ACICS's accreditation of degree-granting institutions. Learn more about our accreditation with ACICS here.
