the cost of college

Students who earn a degree from University of Advancing Technology (UAT) will receive a well-rounded technology education focused on learning how to think and work collaboratively. Students who graduate will possess a deep and comprehensive understanding of contemporary technology, how to best work with it and how to adapt and utilize technologies as they advance and transform. Graduates will be prepared to create, innovate and provide leadership in their chosen field.

INVEST IN YOUR FUTURE

UAT is a small, private technology University that develops skills far beyond ordinary colleges, but it is also surprisingly affordable, more so than most private colleges or out-of-state tuition at state schools. But more importantly—you can graduate much sooner.

A superior, private education is attainable when the student is dedicated to their journey. In fact, when comparing the range of educational opportunities and their costs, UAT tuition is 31% less than the average private tuition and 10% less than the average out-of-state public university.

At UAT, students learn more efficiently in smaller classes with professors who know each student’s strengths and nurture their development. They often graduate and can begin earning income sooner. Alumni are welcome to audit courses online or on campus for life. Your investment in an education at UAT is an investment in a lifetime of learning.

As an institution, we work diligently to ensure that a UAT education represents a clearly affordable alternative compared to many other private four-year colleges or to the cost of out-of-state tuition at a public college. There is no in-state or out-of-state cost difference at UAT. Tuition is a flat rate.

Sources: The College Board Trends in College Pricing and Student Aid 2021. Median costs per academic year are based on 2 semesters per year. Most UAT students elect to attend 3 semesters per calendar year. Costs included in figures are: tuition and fees, transportation, books and supplies, and food and housing. Published annual charges for the 2021-2022 academic year: Public Four-Year In-State $22,690; Public Four-Year Out-of-State $39,510; Private Four-Year $51,690; UAT $40,475.

VALUE OF YOUR INVESTMENT

Not only is technology a great field, it’s a solid investment. Technology is one of the most desirable fields with the most sought-after graduates. Experts say that’s not changing in the foreseeable future. As a University that offers technology degrees exclusively, UAT prepares graduates for many of these great careers.

Technology – A SOLID INVESTMENT

“A bachelor’s degree can earn you 67% more than a high school diploma” (College Trends in Higher Education), but jobs in technology lead virtually all other fields in earning power and new job creation (US Bureau of Labor Statistics). In fact, a career in many of the technology fields can earn you over $2,000,000 more throughout your lifetime. That is an excellent return on your investment.

High School Diploma: $40,612; LIFETIME EARNINGS = $1,786,928 (Earnings by Educational Attainment 2020 according to U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics). Bachelor’s: $67,860; LIFETIME EARNINGS = $2,985,840 (Earnings by Educational Attainment 2020 according to U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics). Bachelor’s (Technology Degree): $91,250; LIFETIME EARNINGS = $4,015,000 (Earnings by Educational Attainment 2020 according to U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics).

BEGIN EARNING REVENUE SOONER

Consider what graduating faster can mean for your finances and your career. At UAT, not only can you graduate faster, but more importantly, enter your career field much sooner. That means you can be earning a salary and moving up the company ladder while your peers are still in state schools paying for tuition, books and food and housing.

Time at UAT vs State schools

Further, UAT gives students a tuition lock upon enrollment. This means that while tuition at both state and private colleges increase each year, your continuous enrollment at UAT will be locked in at your original tuition rate. This can add up to serious dollars saved. Additionally, our all-inclusive food and housing and all-in flat Synchronic Resource Fee add up to more money saved over the high cost of food and housing, books, supplies and fees at other colleges.

1Standard semesters include 15 credit hours. UAT students attend 3 semesters per year. Standard credit completion pace equals 45 credit hours in 1 calendar year. 45 credit hours X 2.67 years = 120 credit hours required for graduation.

2Complete College America reported in 2017 that the average time to complete a Bachelor’s degree is 4.8 years. A 2017 report indicates that only 44% graduate with a degree in 4 years. At the time of publication, this is the most current data.

3College Board Trends in Higher Education 2021-2022 reports public, out-of-state average costs for tuition, fees, food and housing, book and expenses to be: $44,150/year. $44,150 x 5 years = $220,750.

4UAT students usually graduate faster than state students, providing as much as a $200k-$300k lifetime advantage over graduating in 5 years from state universities.

5U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics median salary in May 2020 (annual) for Computer and Information Technology Occupations: $91, 250 x (5 years – 2 2/3 years) = $212,886. $212,886 - $142,680 (tuition, fees, food and housing for 8 semesters) = $70,200

6Per-semester expenses including tuition ($12,950), fees ($375), food and housing ($5,375) calculated using prices published February 2022, with lowest cost options selected. U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The result: On average, UAT graduates earn salaries sooner and are further ahead financially in 5 years than graduates from state schools. Price for tuition may be lowered with scholarships. For more details on this information, call the Financial Aid department at 480.351.7857.

THE UAT TUITION GUARANTEE

At UAT, we're committed to helping you set expectations and plan for an investment in your future. New students establish their tuition rate at the time of enrollment and will be locked into this rate for the entirety of their studies, as long as they remain continuously enrolled at the University.

While some costs and fees may fluctuate, tuition will be the bulk of your college expenditure. You and your family can be much better prepared knowing that the tuition rate will not change during your studies.

Reach out to your Admissions Advisor to discuss further and lock in your tuition rate today!

You're Qualified

DOES THE UAT TUITION GUARANTEE COVER MY ENTIRE FOUR YEARS OF UNDERGRADUATE?

If a student takes a Leave of Absence (LOA) from UAT for only one semester, they can return to campus and remain locked into the same tuition determined in their initial enrollment year.

If a student takes more than a semester-long LOA, they will be required to enroll at the new, higher rate for tuition determined for the semester the student is re-enrolling. Most UAT students graduate within four years, and this policy is designed as an additional effort to meet your family’s four-year degree completion goals.

UAT encourages students and families to measure the burden of unchecked increasing costs of other universities that do not provide the commitment to the student and guarantee to lock in their tuition rates for four years. This one feature alone could mean enough resources to earn a master’s degree for the same cost that other universities charge to earn a bachelor's degree.

Financial
Aid

TUITION ASSISTANCE

UAT makes every attempt to ensure that all qualified students can attend with the help of financial aid, scholarships and grants.

FINANCIAL AID

Financial aid is available to those who qualify. At UAT, like at all accredited institutions of higher education, students must apply for financial aid each year. Changes in family income, family size and the number of family members in college are just a few drivers that affect the amount of aid students receive. Financial aid can be complex and daunting when you first start to look at your options. UAT’s financial aid advisors will always work hard to simplify it for students and their families and help guide you through the path to a superior technology education that will pay dividends to you for a lifetime.

UAT understands how important financial aid is to the majority of our students, and we are aware that every family situation is different. Our Admissions Advisors will help you explore your options. Set up a private consultation with one of our Admissions Advisors by calling 877.828.4335 or emailing admissions@uat.edu.

Students seeking financial aid must meet the following general requirements:

Be accepted to a UAT Associate, Bachelor’s or Master’s program.

Not owe a refund of a federal grant or be in default on an existing federal student loan.

Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.

Have earned a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate.

Be enrolled at least half-time (undergraduate: at least 6 hours, graduate: at least 3 hours).

Have a valid Social Security Number.

When filling out your FAFSA, please include the UAT school code:
017188

The Federal Student Aid Office of the Department of Education makes the final determination of eligibility of students seeking Federal Financial Aid. For more information, visit studentaid.gov.

VETERANS CERTIFICATION OF ENROLLMENT

The University’s School Certifying Official (SCO) will certify student Veterans’ attendance with the Veterans Administration (VA) for all eligible VA students once they’ve completed their Request of Benefits (ROB) and the School Certifying Official has confirmed their entitlement. The ROB is a document the SCO sends to the student confirming the student understands their responsibilities in regards to their Veterans education benefits.

All subsequent semesters will be auto-certified by the SCO unless otherwise stated by the student, University withdrawal, graduation or benefit exhaustion. This certification process is designed to satisfy the VA’s objective of paying benefits only to eligible student Veterans in an acceptable enrollment status. It is the student’s responsibility to understand their entitlement, provisions such as; time attended, course schedule, and/or degree progress relating to Veterans education benefit they are electing to use.

Scholarships
and grants

SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS

A variety of scholarships are available for students attending on-campus. Scholarship recipients must maintain at least Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) at UAT, stay continuously enrolled at the University, abide by the University's Code of Conduct and act with ethics above reproach. The recipients must make satisfactory progress towards the completion of UAT degree objectives. UAT will monitor progress, and the award may be revoked if the recipient is not meeting the expectations and requirements outlined in the University Catalog.

Scholarship amounts vary and range, with the maximum range applied over eight semesters, and are determined at application for admission. Scholarships are for undergraduate and on-campus students only, with the exception of the Continuation Scholarship.

When a student transfers from a UAT-Online to an on-campus or SyncFlex major, the student’s tuition rate will change to the published rate at the time the student enrolled.
