Lindsey McQueeny

Tech Forum Presentation:"Working in Game Development: Tell Me Something I Don't Know"

Then one day, she sent exactly one application to only one game development company, along with one colorfully written cover letter about her one passion, and subsequently had one interview, was offered one job, declined one job, wrote one thank you note, worked in a different industry for one year, until she was contacted by the same one GM she met with the year before. This time, she interviewed for a different job, a job as a superhero, making dreams come true for awesome teams, awesome projects and awesome talent alike, and this one time said yes, and has been working in game development ever since. For the past 5 years, Lindsey has had the honor of working among the very best talent in the industry, on some of the most fantastic projects out there to date. She now has the honor of partnering with venerable Crystal Dynamics, a Square-Enix game development studio, on two high-profile AAA projects, including Tomb Raider (which is apropos because Lindsey has costumed as Lara Croft for Halloween at least a few times in years past).

Beyond seeking and hiring the most experienced and talented developers in the industry, Lindsey is also committed to mentorship and integrity: treating others as she would like to be treated; offering honest and good-natured guidance to those who ask for help; and sharing what little insight & knowledge she has to the newest members of the game development industry about the most incredible, dedicated and brilliant set of individuals she has ever met.
