UAT's Tempe campus is accessible from all parts of the Phoenix metropolitan region by public transportation, bicycles or automobile. Many students live off campus in nearby neighborhoods. The University is close to major freeways, bus lines and Sky Harbor Airport, a major international airport that serves the entire Phoenix metropolitan area. Other local amenities include nearby shopping, arts districts and other attractions one might associate with a dynamic urban center.
Arizona is a land of incredible beauty, contrast and opportunity.

Tempe is located in the "Valley of the Sun", which is surrounded by beautiful mountain ranges. Within a short drive are attractions like the Grand Canyon (4.5 hours), a variety of lakes and rivers (30-90 minutes), the red rocks of Sedona (2 hours) and the exquisite Sonoran Desert (just outside of town).
