2009-2010 Scholarship Opportunities

Beginning in the Fall 2009 semester, incoming UAT students will have the opportunity to receive scholarships in the following categories: Thinking Scholarships, UAT-Online Scholarships, Mission-Driven Scholarships, and Financial Need Scholarships. Within each of these categories are a wide range of individual scholarships that reflect the many facets of the UAT community.

UAT students are accepted for admission based on a range of qualifications that express the student's vision for the college experience, the value of technology innovation in the world and their desire to attend a geek-centric university. Each scholarship is therefore designed to give incoming UAT students a chance to express how their unique vision of the world fits into the overall UAT community learning experience. While not every scholarship will fit every student, this program is designed to provide as many opportunities as possible for financial assistance.

Please note that these scholarships replace all UAT Academic and Community scholarships. If you previously communicated a desire to be considered for an Academic or Community scholarship, these will certainly meet any expectations you may have had regarding financial assistance at UAT. If you were already awarded an Academic or Community Scholarship for the Fall 2009 semester, that scholarship will still be honored.

All scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, so applicants are highly encouraged to apply early. Because these scholarships were designed to provide multiple avenues of financial assistance, applicants are also encouraged to apply for as many scholarships as are available.

UAT offers several types of scholarships:
  • Thinking Scholarships recognize and honor students whose original works and ideas will aid the University's efforts in elevating thinking to a discipline worthy of study.
  • UAT-Online Scholarships are designed to give online students the opportunity to participate in the UAT community from a distance while maintaining the same commitment to UAT values as on-campus students.
  • Mission-Driven Scholarships are designed to help UAT students uphold and embody the mission of the University.
  • Financial Need Scholarships are designed to recognize and alleviate the financial burden of attending college while giving students the opportunity to give something back to their community.

Applications

If you are interested in applying for a UAT scholarship, we encourage you to apply as early as possible. Applications may be submitted for consideration at any time but must be postmarked by the first day of class the semester before the applicant's planned start date.
